Apply for a position on the crew:
Boulder Mountain Fire is not actively hiring but always accepting applications. Applicants need to be well motivated and hard working. Daily tasks include the use of chainsaws, brush chippers, weed whackers and other wildfire mitigation related equipment. Crew members will also respond to a variety of emergency incidents, within Boulder Mountain Fire’s District. Opportunities may also exist for wildfire deployments to areas around the country. Deployments can be detailing with handcrews or on Boulder Mountain Fire's engines.
The wildfire mitigation crew typically works Monday through Thursday, 10 hours a day. The crew works on many different mitigation projects including, both individual homeowner sites as well as large scale fuel breaks. Crew members will be provided with a gym membership, while they are employed. Wages are determined based on applicant's experience and qualifications.
Wildfire Crew Member:
Compensation: $14+, dependent on experience.
Required Qualifications: Wildland Firefighter Type 2 & Chainsaw Faller A/1
